La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged batch #44 has matured for two and a half years on White Wine Barriques, from the southern French Gaillac region. Famous Bordeaux wine varieties such as Sauvignon blanc, Sémillon and Mucscadelle come from here. Batch #44 presents with a deep mahogany brown color, darker than the normal Quadrupel.
The taste is slightly sweet, malty and full-bodied, with fresh notes from the white wine going in fine harmony with the soft influence of the oak. The aftertaste is warming, with the slightly sour and dry taste giving the beer a unique aftertaste.
Batch #44 is a unique and extremely balanced beer from the La Trappe Oak Aged series. It is a beer to enjoy in peace and quiet. This batch was blended in March 2022.
