The malt flavor remains the same with its complex notes of dark chocolate, coffee and dried red fruit. The only difference in this brew is that in the intervening years they have found a better quality vanilla, which really plays the starring role in this beer, enhancing all the other luxurious flavors and rounding out the body. Combined with the pistachios and milk sugar you get a pistachio ice cream float-like feeling.
