Mix of English Barleywine and Imperial Stout matured in Bourbon barrels with Madagascar Vanilla • 12.7% ABV •
A carefully curated blend of our favorite barrels of the @fobab Best of Show-winning Fundamental Observation Imperial Vanilla Stout, aged in Blanton's, Weller and Buffalo Trace, layered with barrels of Intrepid Orchid, aged in Whistle Pig 10-Year, Bernheim and Heaven Hill . Both base beers were aged with pounds of hand-processed Madagascar vanilla beans in each barrel to demonstrate both the incredible complexity that can be achieved through thoughtful blending and the incredible natural vanilla flavor that can be achieved with high quality beans and careful application.
Intrepid Observation is black with glints of amber, while sweet aromas of vanilla and brûlée sugar flicker through the senses with layers of oak and tobacco. The palate offers a beautiful balance of silky vanilla and wood-cut bitterness, with each full sip ending with a delicate dryness and a welcome nod from the 12.7% ABV.
