This Barleywine is aged in freshly emptied maple syrup casks from Canada (previously used to age bourbon), and is distinguished from its sister beers Paragon 2021 & Off the Rack Paragon Rum cask by its much sweeter body. This plays brilliantly with the obvious maple flavors imparted by the casks, as well as classic barley wine notes of treacle, plum, marzipan, spice and vanilla with oak flavors lingering in the background.
