The base of this beer is a blend of two different batches of imperial stout, both of which were initially matured for an extended period in ex-bourbon casks. They were set aside so that their character could develop. To further develop one of the batches, they transferred it to ex-rum casks for a second round of oak maturation. The result of their patience is a complex and exceptionally smooth imperial stout, refined over 37 months of careful maturation.
