A blend of Double Barrel (Bourbon & Sherry), Aged Imperial Stout and Tequila Barrel Aged Mead
Mead Scientist is about to release their first Barre Project stout-mead hybrid and they couldn't be more excited. For example, they chose a medium-dry imperial stout that has matured for almost 2 years in 2 barrels (first Bourbon, then Oloroso sherry) and they mixed it with a sweet mead that has been in a tequila barrel for over a year. The result is a completely new category, at least from our perspective, where chocolate, berries and the spicy-sweet honey characters are the main pillars, but behind them collide oak, vanilla and a whole host of other wafer-thin notes.
