It all started with a version from a solid series called Grand. A series that they started brewing in America and then brought back to our brewhouse in Sweden. And a version with all the caramel crunch you could ever need in a beer. Part of a journey to the perfect stout, to utopia. Step by step, beer by beer, on and on. Forever!
They took that beer and let it sit in Kentucky rye whiskey barrels for a while. That is it. Sounds simple? Well, it's not. But there is no way to explain it in such a complicated, laborious and patient way as to do it.
By emptying the kegs, they split the beer into two versions. A coffee, this one, with coffee from our buddies at Gringo Nordic Roasters. And a straight cask aged: Butterscotch. The names of the beers are what they taste like - making the complicated understandable. Fresh brew!
